From March 18th to 20th, we had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the early career workshop and the conference of the 85. VHB-Tagung at Georg-August-Universitรคt Gรถttingen, focusing on "Responsible Innovation." The early career workshop, led by Hannah Trittin-Ulbrich and Maximilian Heimstรคdt, included a panel discussion on academic identity and a subsequent unconference, creating a space to discuss questions and topics that shape our everyday lives as early career researchers.
We are particularly proud that the entire UFO Institute was present at the conference. Philipp Buchwald, Johanna Fischer, Dennis Imre, and Maren Iwastschenko took the opportunity to present one of their dissertation papers as a full paper or project outline. All four were able to gather valuable insights for the further development of their research. The newest member of our institute, Hendrik Vogt, also gained valuable early insights into the academic community and the conference environment.
A special highlight was the election of Christiana Weber as the new chair of WK ORG. We also warmly congratulate Leonhard Dobusch on his role as the new vice chair and Hendrik Wilhelm as the new early career coordinator.
A heartfelt thanks goes to Guido Mรถllering and his team for the excellent organization of WK ORG, as well as to all other organizers of the 85. VHB-Tagung. The event provided not only a platform for academic exchange but also an opportunity to establish new connections and strengthen existing ones.
We look back with gratitude on a successful and enriching conference and are already looking forward to hosting the 50. WK ORG โJubilรคumstagungโ from March 17th to 19th next year here in Hannover.
